Nepali Film 'Gauthali' Receives Positive Audience Response on Opening Weekend

Kathmandu. The Nepali film 'Gauthali', which was released across the country on Friday, has been successful with the audience's support and positive feedback at the start of its screening.

Audiences thanked the producers, directors, and actors who visited various halls to understand the film's reception, saying they got to watch an excellent film. The audience has highly praised the film's subject matter, the actors' performances, and the message given to society.

There was a significant presence of audience at Ranjana Cineplex in New Road, Kathmandu, to watch the film. Many audiences were emotional after the screening and gave feedback that the struggle of the character 'Gauthali' and the importance of a daughter's education deeply touched them.

The film's director, Dr. Kapil Rijal, said that the entire team is excited by the positive feedback received from the audience.

He said, 'We have been meeting audiences in various halls since morning. The audience has internalized the message we wanted to convey through the film. They have felt the struggle of 'Gauthali', and this is our success.'

The film's actor, Arun Chhetri, said that the audience has loved his character immensely. He mentioned that the audience praised the film by repeating his famous dialogue 'Gai ko Gheu, I love you'.

'This was the most challenging character of my career. The audience has connected emotionally with the character, and this is our achievement,' he said.

Actress Simran Khadka, who plays the title role of 'Gauthali', also said that the audience has given feedback that they have emotionally connected with the character, loving her like a daughter.

'Many have felt that 'Gauthali's' struggle is similar to their own lives. This feedback is the biggest reward for us,' she said.

Director Dr. Kapil Rijal, who works as a dentist in the UK, has been active in film production and direction for the past few years. According to him, his medical experience has influenced his choice of subject matter. Previously, his directed film 'Harry Ki Pyari' addressed the issue of 'sperm donation', while 'Gauthali' primarily focuses on the life of a person with 'mild autism' and the importance of a daughter's education in rural society.

The film features actors including Arun Chhetri, Simran Khadka, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Luniva Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, Ishwori Baral, Sanjog Rasaili, Sitadevi Timilsina, Laxminath Timilsina.

The story is based on Dr. Bhola Rijal's story, and the screenplay and dialogues were jointly prepared by Dr. Kapil Rijal, Nishchal Kunwar, Neeraj Nepal, and Giriraj Ghimire. The film, which centers on the emotions of home, family, relationships, and intimacy, is distributed by Rich Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and FD Company.
