Road Sections in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces Affected by Floods and Road Maintenance

Kathmandu. Some road sections in Koshi and Bagmati provinces have been affected due to floods, potential risks, and road maintenance.

According to the details of Nepal Police, the road in the Mid-Hill Lokmarg in Bhojpur district of Koshi Province has been affected due to floods. The road has been affected by floods in Bokhim, Ward No. 5 of Bhojpur Municipality, since yesterday. Police have stated that this road is currently operating one-way and an alternative route is also available.

Traffic has been affected on two important road sections in Bagmati Province. On the BP Highway section of Khurkot–Nepalethok–Katunjebesi, which falls under Kavrepalanchok district, the operation of vehicles has been stopped in view of the potential flood risk.

The road section of Kulekhani–Phakhel–Humane–Pharping(Kathmandu) in the Mahalakshmi area of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 and 4 in Makwanpur is completely obstructed. Police have informed that this section will remain closed for the next one month due to ongoing road maintenance work. This road section was closed for maintenance since Jestha 15.

As the monsoon has become active, the risk of landslides and floods is increasing in various parts of the country, and police have requested the general public to get information about the road conditions and take precautions before embarking on long-distance journeys.
