Jumla Office Nears Completion of 94 Water, Irrigation, River Control, and Energy Projects

Jumla. The Drinking Water, Irrigation, and Energy Development Office has brought approximately 94 projects related to drinking water, irrigation, river control, and energy to the final stage of implementation within the current fiscal year.

Out of 94 projects approved by the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy Development of Karnali Province, 85 projects have been contracted with consumer committees, and construction of 50 projects has been completed so far. Nine projects were contracted, and construction of seven projects has been completed to date, informed Akal Bahadur Mahat, Chief of the Drinking Water, Irrigation, and Energy Development Office Jumla.

Among these projects, there are 73 क्रमागत (Kramagat) irrigation projects from the ministry for all eight local levels here. 17 projects are for embankment and 25 projects for drinking water will be completed within this fiscal year, according to office chief Mahat.

Projects related to drinking water, irrigation, river control, and energy will be given special priority for implementation. Irrigation projects operated by the office have expanded irrigation facilities to the lands here, leading to the upgrading of arable land.

The Drinking Water, Irrigation, and Energy Development Office Jumla has stated that approximately 50 percent of the capital expenditure of the total budget has been spent by the end of Jestha of the current fiscal year.
