CPN UML to Protest Arrest of Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel

Kathmandu. CPN UML is going to protest politically against the arrest of CPN UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel. After Paudel was arrested by the police from Surkhet on Monday based on a letter from the Department of Money Laundering, UML leaders said that they would protest politically against it. UML has called Paudel's arrest cheap popularity and a stunt. 

UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel said that the process of conducting an impartial and in-depth investigation into any matter, collecting facts and evidence, and proceeding based on the court's decision after prosecution (filing a case) is just, but Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel has been arrested contrary to this principle. He said that leader Paudel was taken under control in a planned manner while he was in Surkhet to participate in a party program.

Chairman KP Sharma Oli made his statement on social media shortly after the party's official stance was made public following Paudel's arrest.
