Raskot Municipality Presents Budget of Rs 56.67 Crore for Fiscal Year 2083/84

Kalikot. Raskot Municipality has presented a budget of a total of Rs 56 crore 67 lakh 51 thousand for the fiscal year 2083/084. Deputy Mayor Manoraj Baral presented it at the 18th Municipal Assembly of the municipality on Sunday.

Out of the total budget of Rs 56 crore 67 lakh 51 thousand presented by the municipality, Rs 9 crore 76 lakh is from the federal equalization grant, Rs 18 crore 81 lakh is from conditional grant current, and Rs 10 crore 45 lakh is from conditional grant capital.

"The projection is to receive Rs 61 lakh from the federal special grant, Rs 2 crore 59 lakh from the complementary grant, and Rs 7 crore 91 lakh from revenue sharing," said the deputy mayor, "From the provincial government, Raskot will receive Rs 1 crore 38 lakh 46 thousand in equalization grant, Rs 22 lakh 5 thousand in conditional grant current, Rs 1 crore 55 lakh in conditional grant capital, Rs 35 lakh in special grant, and Rs 1 crore 19 lakh in complementary grant capital." The municipality has estimated to earn Rs 10 lakh from provincial revenue sharing.

The municipality has set a target of collecting 3.09 percent of the total budget, i.e., Rs 1 crore 75 lakh, from its internal sources (tax and non-tax revenue). Out of the proposed total expenditure, 61.42 percent, i.e., Rs 34 crore 81 lakh 1 thousand, has been allocated for current expenditure and 38.58 percent, i.e., Rs 21 crore 86 lakh 50 thousand, for capital expenditure.

In terms of sectors, the municipality has given high priority to the social development sector, allocating 64.88 percent of the total budget, i.e., Rs 36 crore 77 lakh 5 thousand.

Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the education sector and Rs 15 crore 76 lakh 5 thousand for health. Besides this, Rs 2 crore 48 lakh has been allocated for the economic development sector, Rs 6 crore 5 lakh 50 thousand (10.68 percent) for infrastructure development, Rs 1 crore 28 lakh 50 thousand for good governance and interconnected sectors, and Rs 20 lakh for forest and environment sectors.

The municipality has stated that Rs 9 crore 88 lakh 46 thousand, which is 17.44 percent, has been allocated for office operation and administrative expenses.

Kalikot's Raskot Municipality's municipal assembly was completed with the long-term goal of 'Prosperous Raskot, Happy Raskot Residents' with the main slogan 'We Build, Our City'.
