Ward Member Arrested with Illegal Drugs in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur. Police have arrested a ward member with illegal drugs from Gaura Mandir Tole in the Katan area of Bhimdatta Municipality-18, Kanchanpur.

According to District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawat, on Saturday, based on a special tip-off about illegal drug dealing in the said area, a police team took Rupa Jaira, a resident of Bhimdatta-18 and a ward member of the same ward, into custody in a suspicious condition.

According to the details released by the police today, during a search of Jaira's body, a prohibited drug was recovered hidden in a black plastic packet under her right armpit.

Police said that a total of 30 ampoules of drugs, including 15 ampoules of Promethazine Hydrochloride injection and 15 ampoules of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride injection, were recovered from her possession. Jaira, who was arrested, is being investigated in custody on charges of drug-related offenses, police said.
