Mustang's Thasang Rural Municipality Completes Strategic Ring Road Construction

Mustang. The ring road construction has been completed in Thasang Rural Municipality of the district. The road was constructed under the 'One Constituency, One Strategic Importance Road' scheme in the year 2077 BS.

According to the Road Division Office, Baglung, under the federal government, the ring road construction has made it easier for the locals of four wards on the other side of the Kaligandaki river. The contract for the construction of the ring road was signed with Mahalakshmi Himāli JV Constructions for Rs 38 crore 88 lakh.

According to Engineer Sagar Bhandari of the Road Division Office, Baglung, the ring road connecting four wards of Thasang Rural Municipality could not be completed on time due to lack of budget. The Thasang Ring Road, which was supposed to be completed by Push 6, 2080 BS, had its deadline extended and was set until Asar 30 of the current year due to budget constraints.

Engineer Bhandari stated that the blacktopping of the road using DBSd technology has been completed on the road from Lete, Chhoyo, Kuzjo, Titi, Dhampu to Kokhethanti in Thasang Rural Municipality. Engineer Bhandari mentioned that 10 kilometers of road, with a width of eight and a half meters, has been blacktopped for the strategically important ring road connecting the villages of the four wards in Thasang.

The road from Chhoyo to Kokhethanti under the ring road has been upgraded and blacktopped. All the work on the road has been completed, including 'road marking' and 'traffic sign posting'.

Soml Hirachan, Vice-Chairman of Thasang Rural Municipality, said that the strategically important road connecting the main highway road (Benī-Jomsom) in Thasang Rural Municipality has been completed.

He said that the ring road connecting the four wards on the other side of the Kaligandaki has been completed, and if the bridges being constructed over the Kaligandaki river by the provincial government connecting Lete-Chhoyo and Lete-Dhampu are completed, road access will be established in all villages of Thasang.
