Absconding Murder Accused Sent to Jail for Pre-trial Detention in Bara

Bara. An accused absconding for 20 years after slitting a man's throat due to a land dispute in Bara has been sent to jail for pre-trial detention by court order.

According to the District Police Office Bara, the main accused in the murder that took place on October 3, 2062 BS, Shyambabu Prasad Chaurasiya, 48, son of Dukhi Raut Bare of Prasouni Rural Municipality-1, Bara, has been sent to jail.

According to the incident details, on the morning of October 3, 2062 BS, at around 10 AM, Sheetaprasad Chaurasiya, 40, residing in Motisar Tole of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-18, was brutally murdered. While returning home after finishing his duty from Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital Birgunj, Sheetaprasad was surrounded in the riverbed of Dudhaura Khola in Prasouni due to old land-related enmity and his throat was slit.

The accused, who had been absconding immediately after the incident, was arrested by a police team from the District Police Office Bara on May 13. After the necessary investigation into the arrested person was completed, he was presented in the Bara District Court.

According to the information officer of the District Police Office Bara and Deputy Superintendent of Police Minbahadur Gha, he was sent to jail for pre-trial detention by the court's order on June 5.
