Roads Affected by Rain, Landslides, and Maintenance

Kathmandu. Due to recent rains, floods, landslides, and road maintenance, vehicular movement has been affected on various main highways across the country. According to the latest data from the Department of Roads, as of 7:00 AM today, there are full or partial obstructions on various road sections in Kosi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Main highways in three districts of Kosi Province have been affected by floods. The Mid-Hill Highway has been affected by floods in Bokhim, Ward 5 of Bhojpur Municipality, and in Dobhan, Yangwarak Rural Municipality-2 of Panchthar. Similarly, the Mechi Highway has been obstructed due to floods in Rajduwali, Ilam Municipality-9. Currently, traffic is operating only one-way in all these three locations.

Vehicular movement has been completely stopped on the Khurkot-Nepalethok-Katunjebesi section of the BP Highway in Bagmati Province, considering the potential risk of floods.

Similarly, the road section connecting Kathmandu via Kulekhani-Phakhel-Humane-Pharping in Makwanpur has been completely closed for the next one month due to ongoing maintenance work. Travelers using this road have been informed to use alternative routes.

In Gandaki Province, two main road sections are completely blocked due to landslides. The Besisahar-Manang road section has been blocked by a landslide in Kharekhare Bhir, Ward 6 of Besisahar Municipality, Lamjung.

Similarly, the Kaligandaki Corridor has also been completely obstructed due to a landslide that occurred this morning in Ghokraphat, Ward 3 of Gaidakot Municipality, Nawalparasi East.
