US-Iran Talks Postponed

Bern. The talks scheduled between America and Iran for Friday have been postponed. The Swiss Foreign Ministry confirmed that the talks have been stopped for now and a new date has not been set. The talks were scheduled to take place in the Swiss mountain resort area of Burgenstock. According to the ministry, Switzerland is still ready to facilitate the talks and the necessary preparatory work for it is ongoing.

However, the detailed reason for the postponement of the talks has not been made public. Earlier, the US White House had informed that Vice President JD Vance would not be going to Switzerland as per the schedule. It was said that his trip was stopped due to the technical preparations for the talks not being completed.

Vice President Vance had told reporters on Thursday that he was ready to go to Switzerland, but admitted that the time was not yet fixed. According to him, the plan was to start technical talks with Iran over the weekend and he was preparing to lead the US negotiating team.
