Man Dies in Hotel Room in Surkhet; Police Suspect Foul Play

Surkhet. A person found unconscious in a hotel in Sallichok, Bheriganga Municipality-12, Surkhet, has died during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Lok Bahadur Dangi, approximately 38/39 years old, originally from Juni Chande Rural Municipality-9, Jajarkot, and currently residing in Bheriganga. His death is being treated as suspicious.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kabindra Singh Bohora of the District Police Office, Surkhet, on Tuesday night at around 10:30 PM, Rakesh Sunar, 30, a resident of Bheriganga-12, rented room number 3 at the local New Jajarkoti Dharma Shakti & Lodge. On Wednesday morning around 4:30 AM, Rakesh called the deceased Lok Bahadur to the same room. 'Yesterday evening around 5:30 PM, Mangala, the daughter of the hotel operator Man Bahadur Khadka, went to check the room,' said Police Spokesperson Bohora. 'At that time, she found Dangi unconscious inside the room.'

Dangi was immediately rescued and given preliminary treatment at Ganesh Medical in Chhinchu. At the initiative of Ward Chairman Ram Bahadur Dangi, he was taken to Karnali Province Hospital, Kalagaun, for further treatment. Police Spokesperson Bohora stated that upon arrival at the hospital, doctors declared Dangi dead around 6:30 PM. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team of 7 led by Police Inspector Prakash KC from the Area Police Office, Chhinchu, was dispatched to the scene.

The police are considering the incident suspicious and have arrested Rakesh, 30, who was staying in the same room, for investigation. 'Rakesh has been brought to the Area Police Office, Chhinchu, and further investigation is underway,' he said.
