Former Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha Demands Immediate Talks with India Over Tea Industry Crisis

Kathmandu. Former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has demanded immediate talks with India to resolve the current crisis that has led to the closure of Nepal's tea industry.

On Thursday, through social media Facebook, he urged the government to resolve the situation where tea industries are on the verge of closure due to policies adopted by India. 

'I strongly urge the government to immediately hold talks with the Indian government and find a positive solution to resolve the current crisis that has led to the closure of Nepal's tea industries due to the policies adopted by India. As this will significantly impact Nepal's economy, employment, and export trade, it is imperative for the government to take this matter with utmost seriousness and hold talks with the Indian side immediately to resolve this crisis,' Shrestha wrote.
