Roads Affected by Rain, Landslides, and Maintenance

Kathmandu. Due to rain, floods, landslides, and road maintenance in various parts of the country, some main highways have been affected. 

According to the latest data from the Nepal Police, the Satungal–Chitlang road section is completely blocked due to a landslide in Deurali Devsthan, Chandragiri Municipality–9. It has been informed that this road will be closed for 1 month for maintenance work.

The Kulekhani–Phakhel–Humane–Pharping road has also been completely closed for 1 month due to road maintenance work in the Mahalaxmi area of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality–2 and 4 in Makwanpur.

The road at Puwakhola, Ilam Municipality–9, in the Mechi Corridor located in Ilam, is completely blocked due to floods. The Mechi Highway can be used as an alternative route for the time being.

Considering the risk of potential floods, the operation of all vehicles plying the BP Highway Khurkot–Nepal Dovan–Katunjebesi has been stopped.

Under the Mid-Hill Highway, the road in Bokhim of Bhojpur and Dobhan of Panchthar is operating only one-way due to floods. Under the East-West Highway, the Tuteshwor section of Bardibas–5 in Mahottari is operating one-way.
