Gandaki Province Government Increases Employee Salaries and Benefits in FY 2083/84

Pokhara. The Gandaki Province government is set to increase the salaries and allowances of its employees in the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084. The announcement to increase employee benefits was made while unveiling the budget for the upcoming year. In line with the increase in government employee salaries and allowances through the Nepal government's budget for the fiscal year 2083/084, the salaries and allowances of employees working in Gandaki Province have also been increased.

Similarly, to boost the morale and enhance the work efficiency of employees working on contract service, a dearness allowance equivalent to permanent staff will be provided starting from the upcoming August 1, as stated in the budget speech. To strengthen employee social security, a contributory pension fund system will also be arranged, informed Finance Minister Jit Bahadur Sherchan.

Furthermore, special programs have been put forward to promote good governance and strengthen peace and security. Along with the increase in employee salaries, contract employees will receive dearness allowance, and 14 crore has been allocated for peace and security. He also stated that a minimum of 10 crore rupees will be kept in the disaster management fund.

The government has announced that it will expand the integrated service offices in the districts into satellite offices to provide technology-friendly and citizen-friendly services. Last year, Gandaki integrated 32 offices and reduced them to 19.

The organizational and management survey of bodies under the province will be completed to streamline the administrative structure, and current expenditure will be reduced. The government has proposed 38 percent current expenditure for the upcoming year, which is 1 percent less than the current year.
