GANDAKI PROVINCE ALLOCATES OVER 1 BILLION RUPEES FOR TAP WATER EXPANSION

Pokhara. The Gandaki Province government has allocated a budget of over 1 billion rupees to bring tap water to the homes of the province's citizens in the coming year. With the main slogan 'Clean Water, Healthy Life', 1.07 billion rupees have been allocated to complete multi-year drinking water projects.

Finance Minister Jit Bahadur Sherchan informed that the 'One House, One Tap' program has been continued by intensifying projects that have been in operation since the past.

He stated that priority has been given to the program of supplying clean drinking water to government schools, health institutions, religious, and tourist sites.

Similarly, 44.5 million rupees have been allocated to provide subsidies on electricity tariffs consumed by drinking water and irrigation projects operated through lifting technology.

A budget of 4.77 billion rupees has been allocated for the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Drinking Water. The provincial government has claimed to declare Gandaki Province bright by providing electricity service to all households in Gandaki Province within the upcoming financial year.
