Devotees Flock to Budhanilkantha Temple for Parma Ekadashi

Kathmandu. On the occasion of Parma Ekadashi, devotees have been flocking to the Budhanilkantha temple since early this morning. Devotees have been reaching the temple since early morning to have darshan and worship Lord Vishnu.

A significant crowd of devotees has been observed in the temple premises. As there is a long queue for darshan, devotees are waiting for their turn. Special aarti, bhajan, and kirtan programs are being conducted in the temple, making the entire atmosphere devotional.

Parma Ekadashi is considered a day of special significance for Hindus. On this occasion, devotees are visiting the temple according to the tradition of fasting, worshiping, and adoring Lord Vishnu. For this reason, thousands of devotees have been present at the Budhanilkantha temple today.

This Ekadashi is the last Ekadashi of the Purushottam month (Adhik Maas). According to the Hindu calendar, the Purushottam month, which comes once every three years, is known by the name of Lord Vishnu's supreme form, 'Purushottam'. It is a religious belief that this month is very auspicious and fruitful for fasting, charity, bathing, reading scriptures, and worshiping Lord Vishnu. It is believed that good deeds done during this period are many times more fruitful than in an ordinary month.

On the occasion of the last Ekadashi of the Purushottam month, there has been a special crowd of devotees in Vishnu temples across the country, including Budhanilkantha. As it is the last Ekadashi of the year, there is more enthusiasm, devotion, and reverence among the devotees.
