MP Acharya Warns Against Hasty Accusations Affecting Nepal's Image

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Bipin Acharya has stated that the tendency to make accusations based on hearsay without facts and deep study will severely affect the country's image and investment environment.

Speaking at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, MP Acharya urged for sensitivity when commenting on foreign investment and international brands. He said, "How we view the goodwill of a global company like BYD internationally is important. If there are some weaknesses in Nepal, it might be the issue of local importers, but it is not appropriate to engage in a game of defaming the brand itself. We have not considered how this will affect Nepal's image internationally." He expressed dissatisfaction that big accusations are being made recently based on things written on social media and headlines.

"Before making serious accusations against the Finance Minister or other individuals based on a Facebook status, we must think about whether we have 'in-depth' knowledge," he said. He mentioned that it has become easy to find answers and ask questions through ChatGPT and Gemini Pro. MP Acharya argued that making tax on electric vehicles based solely on price would be incomplete.
