Major Highways Affected by Landslides and Road Repairs

Kathmandu. Traffic movement on various major highways across the country has been affected due to floods, landslides, and road repairs. According to the report until 6:30 this morning, some road sections in Kosi and Bagmati provinces, including the Kathmandu Valley, are completely closed.

The Satungal-Chitlang road section is completely blocked due to a landslide in Chandragiri Municipality-9 Deurali Devsthan, Kathmandu. This road has been closed for one month for repair work.

Similarly, the Kulekhani-Phakhel-Humane-Pharping-Kathmandu road section is also completely blocked due to ongoing road repairs in various places in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality of Bagmati Province. This section will also remain closed for one month for repairs. In Kavrepalanchok, vehicular movement has been stopped on the Khurkot-Nepal Thok-Katunjebesi section of the BP Highway in view of the potential flood risk.

In Kosi Province, there are obstructions at two places on the Mid-Hill Highway. The Mid-Hill Highway is completely blocked due to floods in Dobhan, Yangwarak Rural Municipality-2, Panchthar.

Likewise, although the road is blocked due to floods in Bokhim, Bhojpur Municipality-5, Bhojpur, traffic has been resumed one-way through an alternative route.
