Young Woman Undergoes Rare Brain Surgery Without Incision at CMC

Chitwan. A 21-year-old woman's ruptured brain vessel was surgically treated without incision at Chitwan Medical College (CMC).

The hospital stated that the woman, in whom this type of surgery, considered rare in the field of medical science, was successfully completed, will be discharged today.

The surgery was performed by a team comprising 'Interventional Radiologist' Dr. Vivek Kumar Sah and 'Cardiovascular Surgeon' Prof. Dr. Anil Acharya from the hospital. According to Dr. Sah, the young woman from Ichchakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan came to CMC hospital three days ago unable to eat. MRI and CT scan tests revealed a ruptured large vessel in her brain during the examination.
