MP Mingma David Sherpa Congratulates Nirmal Purja on 57th Eight-Thousand Meter Peak Ascent

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Mingma David Sherpa has congratulated world-renowned climber Nirmal Purja ‘Nimsdai’ on successfully climbing eight-thousand-meter high peaks for the 57th time.

Congratulating him via social media Facebook, he called Purja’s success an extraordinary achievement at the highest level of mountaineering.

Purja has so far successfully climbed eight-thousand-meter high peaks 57 times, and 29 of them without oxygen. Praising his unprecedented record, MP Sherpa wrote on Facebook, ‘Congratulations on achieving an extraordinary feat at the highest level of mountaineering by successfully reaching 57 summits of eight thousand meters, including 29 ascents without supplemental oxygen.’

With only Cho Oyu peak remaining to climb, Nirmal Purja is on the verge of completing his ambitious ‘Hattrick Project’. Under this project, the goal is to climb the world’s fourteen eight-thousand-meter high peaks three times and the ‘Seven Summits’ (the highest peaks of the seven continents) three times.

Wishing Purja, who is in the final stage of his historic journey, MP Sherpa wrote, ‘With only Cho Oyu remaining, you are on the verge of completing your remarkable Hattrick Project. I wish you continuous strength, safe climbing, and success as you complete this historic journey.’
