Nepali Army Subedar Ishwori Bhujel Murdered by Husband Kumar Thapa

Kathmandu. Nepali Army Subedar Ishwori Bhujel was returning home after finishing her duty on Friday night. She lived with her two sons in Paiyuntar, Lolang, Tarkeshwor Municipality-6, Kathmandu. 'Nepali Bro' known as Kumar Thapa is her husband. However, their relationship had been bitter for some time. For that reason, 42-year-old Thapa only came home occasionally. As soon as Ishwori left the office on her scooter to go home, Kumar, who was waiting on the road, suddenly attacked her. Police have found that he attacked Ishwori with bricks, stones, and a sharp weapon at 10:10 PM. After learning about the incident, neighbors and relatives took Ishwori to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. Doctors declared her dead there. The body is being autopsied at the Teaching Hospital. Preliminary investigation has revealed that her murder occurred due to escalating domestic disputes, SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu told Ratopati. He said, 'The relationship between the two appears to be extremely bitter.' According to the police, Ishwori had filed a case of marital rape against Kumar. The case was registered at Balaju Police Station, and the government attorney's office filed a charge sheet in the Kathmandu District Court based on the investigation. The case is ongoing in court. The dispute between them intensified while the marital rape case was ongoing. For that reason, domestic violence complaints were being filed and discussed at Balaju Police Station. Even before the Genji movement on Bhadra 23, 2082, the police had discussed 'public peace' offenses with both of them. According to an official at Balaju Police Station, a compromise was reached after discussions on the public peace complaint. That official says, 'Before the Genji movement, discussions and a compromise took place at our office between them.' SP Pawan Bhattarai also said that there were frequent complaints and compromises in domestic violence. He said, 'It appears that the relationship reached a very bitter stage as this series escalated.' Amidst this tense situation, Kumar, who is also a wrestler, is found to have wished on social media that no one's life would be taken by his hands. In a video he prepared and posted on Facebook, he said, 'The life and death of a person are given by God; may no one's life be taken by my hands.' He posted that video on Facebook only a short time before murdering his wife. In that video, he mentioned hearing about many murders and said that he couldn't sleep when he heard such things. Thapa said on social media, 'If relationships and opinions don't match, let's separate and live apart.' However, Kumar himself is currently in the custody of Balaju Police Station on charges of murdering his wife. The deceased Bhujel had also been found to be verbally abusing Kumar on social media. Bhujel is a technical subedar in the army. Kumar is also a former soldier. Accused of murder, Kumar Thapa is also a former soldier. Police officers involved in the investigation say that he left the army job and got involved in sports. He is currently known as the wrestler 'Nepali Bro.' SP Bhattarai said that the sharp weapon 'knife' used by him in the murder of his wife has been recovered. He said, 'We have recovered the knife used in the murder.' Police investigation has revealed that Kumar also used an iron rod, bricks, and stones during the murder. Although Kumar was seen alone at the scene, an official at Balaju Police Station said that investigations are also underway regarding other individuals connected to Kumar. He said, 'We are investigating who else is involved.'
