Two Arrested for Fraudulently Promising Jobs Abroad

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two people on charges of defrauding individuals by luring them with attractive service facilities and promising to send them to Greece and Japan. According to the Central News Room of Nepal Police, two people have been arrested from Kathmandu on charges of defrauding people by luring them with attractive salaries for foreign employment.

Those arrested are Laxmi Thapa Karki, residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3, and Priya Baniya, residing in Budhanilkantha-8. Among those arrested, Laxmi was found to have taken Rs 11,50,000 from one person by promising to send them to Greece.

Similarly, based on the complaint of a victim who stated that Priya took Rs 2,00,000 from a victim promising to send them to Japan and then became out of contact, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had been searching for them. The police stated that they have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
