Farmers Prepare Fields for Paddy Plantation in Khokana

Lalitpur. With regular rainfall during the pre-monsoon period and the beginning of the month of Asar, farmers in the historic settlement of Khokana, Lalitpur, have started preparing their fields for paddy plantation.

With the rain wetting the soil, the farmers here have started the pre-planting preparations.

Currently, the farmers of Khokana are busy breaking the clods of soil dug out from the fields and applying fertilizer to the fields before planting. To increase paddy productivity, the soil needs to be prepared well, and the farmers have been working in the fields since early morning.

To increase the fertility of the soil, the farmers here are making full use of local and traditional methods in addition to chemical fertilizers. Farmers are busy applying cow dung to the fields, making compost by decomposing the crops planted in the previous season in the field itself, and placing mustard stalks in the field.

Farmers believe that the use of this type of organic method will improve soil quality and help in paddy production. With regular rainfall, the farmers of Khokana are excited with the hope that they will be able to plant on time this year.
