Rastriya Prajatantrik Party Chief Whip Khushbu Oli Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Prolonged House Adjournment

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantrik Party (RPP) Chief Whip Khushbu Oli has expressed dissatisfaction over the prolonged adjournment of the House of Representatives.

She questioned on social media - 'If there was no intention to create an environment for dialogue to end the stalemate in the House, to find a political consensus, and to operate the House effectively, what was the real justification for adjourning the parliamentary session for such a long time?'

Oli said - 'The House was obstructed citing that not only the voices of the opposition party but also the amendment proposals registered by many MPs of the ruling party were ignored in the process of passing the House of Representatives regulations. After that, the Prime Minister's controversial statement raised further serious questions. The opposition has been continuously demanding dialogue and accountability to ensure national interest, parliamentary sovereignty, and the accountability of the representatives on these issues, and the House was obstructed.'

'There was no invitation for dialogue for the past five days. No initiative was taken to find a solution. Rather, the long adjournment of the House has created serious suspicion that party interests have been prioritized over national issues. Meanwhile, facilitation has been done for the ward convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Nepal's sovereign parliament is not for the convenience of any party or individual, but it is the supreme democratic institution representing the sovereign will of the people. The serious attention of the Federal Parliament Secretariat is required on such matters to protect democratic values and parliamentary dignity,' Oli said.
