15-Foot Python Rescued Near Mata Chok in Jhapa's Mechinnagar Municipality

Jhapa. A 15-foot-long python snake has been rescued near a footpath at Mata Chok, Mechinnagar Municipality-4, Jhapa. The python was found near a footpath.

Local residents saw the python around 11 PM last night and immediately informed the Bahundangi Police Post. Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and rescued it safely, keeping it at the Bahundangi Police Post, informed District Police Office's Police Inspector Suman Baniya.

According to him, coordination has been made with the Division Forest Office Bahundangi for the rescue and management of the python.

Pythons, elephants, and other wild animals occasionally enter settlements near forest areas here. The police have urged locals to not go near such wild animals if seen and to immediately inform the concerned authorities.
