Home Ministry Corrects SSP Transfer Decision

Kathmandu. The Home Ministry has corrected the transfer of SSPs in the police. The transfer list published according to the decision made by Prime Minister and Home Minister Balen Shah on Jestha 18 has been corrected by the ministry.

Shanti Raj Koirala, who was transferred to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Office, has been transferred elsewhere from there. It has been decided to bring Suresh Kafle to the Valley Traffic.

Kafle was working in the Special Bureau. Koirala, who was transferred from Nepal Police Province Office Birgunj to Valley Traffic, has been sent to the Special Bureau after correcting his transfer.

There was criticism that Koirala was given the responsibility of in-charge from in-charge when 33 people were transferred by the decision of the Prime Minister and Home Minister level. According to the internal criteria of the Police Headquarters, Province Office Birgunj falls under 'B' category. Valley Traffic Police Office is an 'A' category office.

The criteria have a provision that after managing the in-charge of one office, one must work elsewhere for one year before being sent to another in-charge. At that time, IGP Dan Bahadur Karki had recommended to the Home Ministry to bring Koirala to the Valley Traffic by violating the criteria.
