Dhangadhi Faces Power Outages Amidst Rising Heat

Dhangadhi. With the heat in the Terai region of Sudurpaschim increasing sharply, local residents are facing significant hardship due to irregular electricity service in Dhangadhi. The daily lives of the general public have become difficult due to the rising temperature on one hand and unscheduled power cuts on the other. 

According to Bipana Pal, a local resident of Pragatinagar, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3, it has become difficult to even stay indoors due to frequent power outages during both day and night. Power outages have caused problems for students in their studies and for household chores. She stated that the working class and children are the most affected by this.

The Nepal Electricity Authority, Dhangadhi Distribution Center, has stated that technical problems are causing the electricity to go out and come back on due to increased demand and voltage fluctuations.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the maximum temperature in Dhangadhi reached around 37 to 39 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The minimum temperature remained at 24-26 degrees, making the nights uncomfortable.

Health worker Kisan Bohara has advised people to take care of their health due to the risk of heatstroke and dehydration in the increasing heat.

He advised the general public not to go out in the strong sun except for essential work and to drink plenty of water and fluids.
