Father Kills Son in Dailekh After Alcohol-Fueled Dispute

Dailekh. A father has brutally murdered his own son after a family dispute following consumption of intoxicating substances in Dailekh.

On Tuesday night, in Salakharka of Narayan Municipality-9 of the district, 70-year-old father Kabiraj Thapa murdered his own 45-year-old son Yadav Thapa by attacking him with a sharp weapon, a khurpa.

This incident, where a minor argument between father and son due to intoxication reached a fatal stage, occurred around 11 PM on Tuesday night. According to the police, a minor dispute over family matters began between the father and son during the night. As both became agitated due to consuming intoxicating substances, father Kabiraj, in a fit of rage, attacked son Yadav with a khurpa from the house.

Yadav, who was seriously injured by the attack with the sharp weapon, was rescued and taken to the Dailekh District Hospital for treatment that very night. However, due to severe injuries to his body and excessive bleeding, doctors declared him dead immediately upon arrival at the hospital.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team immediately dispatched to the scene took the father, Kabiraj Thapa, involved in the murder, under control from the spot. The police also recovered the blood-stained khurpa used in the murder.

The District Police Office has initiated further legal proceedings after collecting the crime scene report.
