Two Arrested with Banned Tramadol Hydrochloride Capsules in Godawari

Lalitpur. Police and Armed Police Force jointly arrested two people with a large quantity of banned drugs from the Bishankhunarayan Community Forest area in Godawari Municipality Ward No. 2, Lalitpur. 

They were taken into custody based on special secret information received by the Armed Police that drugs were being transported in a taxi for the past one week. 

Following the special information, a joint team from Police Division Bhaadegaun under District Police Complex Lalitpur and Armed Police Force Nepal No. 21 Brigade Headquarters Dakshinkali Lalitpur searched the forest area. During the search, 21,064 strips, totaling 210,640 tablets of 'Tramadol Hydrochloride Capsule', which were hidden for sale and distribution, were recovered. 

Police have arrested 38-year-old taxi driver Sant Bahadur Tamang, a resident of Chaundeurali Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, Kavre, currently residing in Changathali, Mahalakshmi Municipality Ward No. 7, Lalitpur, and 27-year-old Asmita Bamjan, a resident of Godawari Municipality Ward No. 4, Lalitpur, on charges of involvement in the transportation and sale of drugs. 

Police have also recovered the taxi with registration number Ba.Pra. 01 002 Ja 8863 used in the drug trafficking. Both the arrested individuals are currently kept at Police Station Satdobato and further investigation into the incident is underway.
