Nationwide Mixed Weather Expected: Hot Terai, Rainy Mountains

Kathmandu. On Tuesday, the weather across the country is expected to be mixed. According to the weather forecast for the cities, most of the cities in the Terai will experience extreme heat, while the cities in the hilly and mountainous regions are likely to have rain with thunderstorms and lightning.

Especially in the cities of the Terai, it will feel very hot today. According to the forecast, Simara, Biratnagar, and Janakpur will have a 'hot day' this afternoon. Among these cities, the maximum temperature in Biratnagar, Janakpur, and Bhairahawa is estimated to reach between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, the maximum temperature in Simara will be between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius. In Bhairahawa, Ghorahi, and Dharan, there will be partial clouds in the afternoon, but the sky will be mostly clear at night, and there is no possibility of rain in these places.

Meanwhile, rain is possible in the major hilly cities of the country, including the federal capital Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu, there is a 40 percent chance of moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the afternoon, and the maximum temperature will be between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius. At night, there will only be partial clouds in Kathmandu, and there is no possibility of rain.

Pokhara has the highest chance of rain today. Pokhara has a 60 percent chance of moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the afternoon and a 40 percent chance of light rain at night, according to the forecast.

In addition, Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Okhaldhunga, Dhankuta, Jiri, and Taplejung are also forecast to have moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning, with a 40 percent to 30 percent chance in the afternoon. Similarly, Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, Jumla, and Jomsom have a chance of light rain in the afternoon.

In the Terai cities of Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, and Nepalgunj, there is no chance of rain at night, and there will be partial clouds, while in Jumla, Jomsom, Dadeldhura, Dipayal, and Taplejung, there may be light rain with thunderstorms at night.

The lowest temperature across the country today is expected to be measured in Jumla and Jiri. The minimum temperature in these two cities is forecast to drop to between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius at night, which will make it feel cold there.
