Free Surgery for Uterine Prolapse at Sankhuwasabha District Hospital

Sankhuwasabha. Free surgery has been performed for women suffering from uterine prolapse at the District Hospital Sankhuwasabha. Poor women from Bhojpur and Sankhuwasabha suffering from uterine prolapse have benefited from the camp operated from Jestha 19 to 22 at the District Hospital.

Hospital Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Santosh Dev said that women suffering from uterine prolapse but unable to afford treatment elsewhere have benefited from this. He said that the camp has provided great relief to many women from rural and remote areas who are forced to live with this problem for years due to weak economic status and lack of public awareness.

"Due to lack of timely treatment, women's daily life, health, and mental state are affected. Therefore, free health check-ups, necessary counseling, medicines, and health monitoring after surgery were provided during the camp," said Dr. Dev.

About one hundred women were health checked in the camp. Free accommodation and food were arranged for the patients. Services such as hard joint specialist service, pediatrics, general surgery, physiotherapy, and obstetrics are in operation at the hospital.

Not only citizens from 10 local levels of Sankhuwasabha but also more than half of the citizens from the neighboring district of Bhojpur come here for treatment.
