Four Arrested with 10kg Opium in Rukum West

Surkhet. Police have arrested 4 people with 10 kg of opium in Rukum West.

Those arrested include approximately 28-year-old Khadak Pun from Kain, Nalgad Municipality-3, Jajarkot, 30-year-old Brihaspati Pun Thapa from the same place, 36-year-old Rambahadur Sarki from Shantinagar, Kohalpur Municipality-2, Banke, and 18-year-old Suraj BK.

According to Hari Prasad Pun, Police Inspector at the District Police Office Rukum West, they were taken under control from Chhepare, Athbiskot Municipality-14.

"We have also recovered 10 kg 160 grams of opium from their possession," he said, "They were going from Kalimati, Jajarkot towards Nepalgunj in a Force vehicle numbered Lu 2 Kha 5115."

During the police check, a sack of turmeric was found in the rear dicky of the vehicle. However, upon opening it, opium was found, informed Police Inspector Pun.

Rukum West Police stated that an investigation is underway with an extension of remand from the court on Monday.
