Opposition Lawmakers Demand Removal of Prime Minister's Statement on Border Encroachment

Kathmandu. Opposition party lawmakers have demanded that Prime Minister Balen Shah's statement in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, claiming Nepal has encroached on India's border, be removed from the record.

Speaking at the beginning of the House of Representatives meeting, Congress Chief Whip Niskal Rai, UML Chief Whip Ain Mahar, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi appealed that the Prime Minister either present facts or have the statement removed from the record.

They stated that the Prime Minister's statement has caused about 30 million Nepalis to bow their heads in shame.

They said that if the Prime Minister was telling the truth, they needed one-by-one facts about where Nepal has encroached on India's land.
