Man Arrested for Murder of Rudra Shrestha in Jhapa

Jhapa. Police have arrested one person on the charge of murdering 55-year-old Rudra Shrestha, a resident of Mechinnagar Municipality-15 Nilkothi.

The arrested person is 35-year-old Ram Bahadur Gautam, a native of Tanahu, who was working and residing at Maa Pathibhara Plywood Factory operated in the same place.

According to the police, on Sunday night, Ram Bahadur beat Rudra Shrestha during a mutual dispute. Shrestha, who was seriously injured in the beating, was immediately taken to the Provincial Hospital Bhadrapur for treatment. Police said that he died on Monday morning during treatment at the hospital.

Upon receiving the news of Shrestha's death due to the beating, a police team from Jamirgadhi Police Post arrested the accused Gautam. The District Police Office and subordinate teams are conducting necessary investigations to proceed with legal action against the arrested Gautam on the charge of murder.
