House of Representatives Regulations 2083 to be Implemented from Today's Meeting

Kathmandu. The 'House of Representatives Regulations 2083' passed from Sunday's House of Representatives meeting amidst the obstruction by opposition parties will come into effect from Monday's meeting.  

Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Joint Secretary Ekram Giri, informed that the meeting will be conducted under the passed regulations.  'The meeting today will be conducted under the regulations passed yesterday,' Spokesperson Giri told Ratopati.

There were 35 amendments to the draft regulations prepared by the committee led by National Independent Party MP Ganesh Parajuli. After clause-wise discussion on those amendments, opposition party MPs from Nepali Congress, CPN UML, Communist Party of Nepal, Labour Culture Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party surrounded the well during Sunday's meeting when it was about to be passed. There was a brief tension as MPs from the ruling party, National Independent Party, stood up in protest of their obstruction.

Spokesperson Giri informed that the passed report will be authenticated by Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal shortly and then sent for publication in the Gazette.

 'The Speaker will authenticate it shortly. Then preparations are underway to send it for publication in the Gazette today itself,' said Spokesperson Giri.
