Government Allocates Budget Prioritizing Infrastructure and Social Sectors

Kathmandu. The government has allocated the budget for the upcoming fiscal year prioritizing infrastructure construction and social sector development. 

In the annual budget for the fiscal year 2083/084 presented by Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle in the Federal Parliament, ministries related to physical development, education, energy, and security have received the largest share.  

Among the total ministry-wise allocations, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development has received the largest budget. Rs 3 kharba 2 arba 83 crore has been set aside for this ministry.  

Similarly, the Ministry of Education and Sports has received the second largest budget. Rs 2 kharba 18 arba 30 crore has been allocated to this ministry.  

The government, aiming to develop the energy sector as the 'engine' of economic prosperity, has given the third largest budget to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. Rs 1 kharba 14 arba 2 crore has been allocated for this ministry.  

The Ministry of Home Affairs has received the fourth largest share, i.e., Rs 1 kharba 8 arba 32 crore.  Similarly, the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene is in the fifth position. Rs 96 arba 43 crore 63 lakh has been allocated for it.
