Government Prioritizes Siddhartha and Prithvi Highway Upgrades for Economy and Tourism

Pokhara. The government has given high priority to the upgrade of the Siddhartha and Prithvi highways, which play a significant role in the country's economy and tourism promotion.

Through the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084, the government has stated its intention to transform these two main road sections to international standards and facilitate transportation. 

The construction of the Ambukhairani-Pokhara section of the Prithvi Highway has reached the final stage of completion. The road upgrade process has been initiated from Mugling to Ambukhairani. 

Meanwhile, the government has announced that the Butwal-Pokhara section of the Siddhartha Highway will now be developed as an expressway. The government's goal is to upgrade this road to international standards and develop this region as the Gandaki Quadrilateral. 

Similarly, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle informed that the origin area of the Kaligandaki civilization will be included and developed as a center for pilgrimage and clean business enterprises. 

Furthermore, the construction work of the famous Siddhababa tunnel route under the Siddhartha Highway is targeted to be completed within the next year.
