Government to Launch Voluntary Social Security Allowance Scheme

Kathmandu. The government is bringing a program to encourage socially and economically capable citizens to voluntarily give up social security allowance. Under this, a national campaign 'Let those who can, leave; let those who cannot, join' will be conducted.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced such a campaign through the budget for the upcoming fiscal year (2083/084). He informed that the social security system will be made more equitable and targeted.

Finance Minister Wagle also announced that the child nutrition allowance for Dalit children across the country has been doubled to Rs 1,000 per month. He stated that the nutrition allowance received by children in Madhesh, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim with high poverty will be continued.
