Koshi Province Chief Minister Highlights Sagarmatha's Significance

Biratnagar. Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki has stated that Sagarmatha is not just a mountain, but a symbol of Nepal and Nepali identity, self-respect, and pride.

Issuing a congratulatory message on the historic day of the successful ascent of the world's highest peak, Sagarmatha, he expressed this view.

Chief Minister Karki said that due to the increasing impact of climate change, there is a growing risk of mountains melting, drying up, and serious crises arising in the Himalayan ecological system.

In his congratulatory message, Chief Minister Karki mentioned that the Koshi Province government is firmly committed to moving forward in collaboration with all stakeholders for the protection of the Himalayan environment, safe mountain tourism, and sustainable development.

Sagarmatha Day is celebrated in commemoration of the historic day of the successful ascent of the world's highest peak, Sagarmatha. Sagarmatha falls in Nepal's Koshi Province.
