Government Economic Survey Reveals Electricity Access Gaps in Schools

Kathmandu. The Economic Survey published by the government shows statistics that electricity access has not yet reached schools. The Economic Survey 2082-83 shows that internet has reached 85.4 percent of schools in Nepal. Similarly, it shows that electricity access has reached 69.6 percent.

According to the Economic Survey, great success has been shown in post-earthquake school reconstruction. The survey mentions that the construction of 7,672 schools has been completed.

For student welfare, scholarships were provided to more than 1.54 million community school students and a midday meal program was provided to 2.7 million students in the academic session 2082, according to the survey.

Similarly, in terms of human resource management, 271,344 teachers are working across the country. The proportion of female teachers is 43.7 percent. In this sector, the teacher-student ratio was found to be 24 in community schools and 29 in institutional schools.
