Janaki Rural Municipality Begins Administrative Building Construction After a Decade

Kailali. Janaki Rural Municipality has started the construction of its administrative building after a decade of its establishment.

The administrative building of the rural municipality had to wait for a decade due to the delay in land acquisition as there was no public land within the rural municipality. The construction of the administrative building of the rural municipality has started after brick entrepreneur Tejpratap Rana donated one biga and 10 katthas of land to the rural municipality, informed Engineer Yogendra Shahi of the rural municipality.

The work of the two-and-a-half-story administrative building at a cost of Rs 12 crore 8 lakh 27 thousand 938 is being carried out by Triveni, Lafa, Shubhaxmi JV, according to Engineer Shahi. According to him, the building construction is scheduled to be completed by Ashad 20, 2084, as per the agreement made for building construction on Ashad 22, 2082. "Construction of the building has been delayed due to lack of land," says Engineer Shahi, "From next year, the rural municipality will provide services from its own building."

Manishkumar Shah, an engineer from the construction company, said that more than 25 percent of the work has been completed so far. He said that it is difficult to work during the rainy season due to the problem of waterlogging at the building construction site. "The work on the foundation is complete. The target is to complete the work of the first floor by this Ashad," he says, "If there are no problems during the work, we will complete the building on time and hand it over to the rural municipality."

The rural municipality has been providing services from the administrative building of Ward No. 1. Some branches are still being operated from rented houses. Services of Ward No. 1 are being provided from the building of the former Durguli Village Development Committee. Due to the problem of public land in the rural municipality, the administrative buildings of Ward No. 5 and Ward No. 6 have also not been constructed. Both ward offices have been providing services from rented houses.
