Lumbini Province Assembly Concludes Discussion on Budget Principles and Priorities

Butwal. The discussion on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 has been completed in the Lumbini Province Assembly.

In the Provincial Assembly meeting held on Saturday, participating members suggested the government bring a budget focused on agriculture, local production, enterprise development, marketization, and self-reliance-oriented programs.

The members expressed the view that the upcoming budget should be implementable, result-oriented, and instill hope and confidence in the citizens, emphasizing the need to prioritize programs for youth-targeted employment creation, skill development, and entrepreneurship promotion.

The discussion on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill, 2083, was conducted in accordance with sub-rule (3) of rule 135 of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly Rules, 2079. The Speaker had allocated three hours, or 180 minutes, for the discussion.

Provincial Assembly members Dipendra Kumar Pun, Yamuna Rokaya Tamang, Tulsiram Sharma, Krishna Kushma Tharu, Rekha Sharma, Dhan Bahadur KC, Indrakumari Gahatraj, Navraj Lamichhane, Rajkumar Chaudhary, and Tulsiprasad Chaudhary participated in the discussion.

During the zero hour at the beginning of the meeting, members expressed their views on various contemporary issues. Rajuprasad Shrestha, Tara Thapa, Malti Sodari, Bhagawati Adhikari, Basanti Neupane, Naramaya Dhakal, Sushila Badi, and Minakumari Shrestha spoke during the zero hour.

The next meeting of the Provincial Assembly is scheduled to be held on Sunday, Jestha 10, at 1 PM.
