Nepali Film 'Lalibazar' Enters Third Week, Garners 5.25 Crore Gross Collection

Kathmandu. The Nepali film 'Lalibazar', which has been in the news due to controversies, has entered its third week of screening from Friday. This film, released on April 25, has so far collected a gross of 5 crore 25 lakh rupees, according to the production company Shatkon Arts. According to the company's CEO Max Dipesh Khatri, the film achieved this gross collection by 11:59 PM on May 7. Producer Khatri stated that the love the film is receiving across Nepal is invaluable to them. He mentioned that the film, which highlights the importance of education through the story of a mother and daughter, has been well understood by the general audience. 'Children currently abroad are sending their parents to watch the film, daughters in the country are bringing their mothers to the cinema, and the audience who trusted us has returned satisfied, which is our great success,' said producer Khatri. He also informed that 10 percent more viewers watched the film in the second week compared to the first week. Actress Swastima Khadka, who has toured major cities across Nepal to meet the audience, said that the audience's love is the same everywhere and the film has been liked by audiences from both the east and west of the country. 'We are grateful for the love given by the audience across Nepal; it is our success that the film has been received with such thought, and this weekend we will meet the audience in the Kathmandu Valley and take feedback,' said actress Khadka. 'Lalibazar' is now being shown by various schools to their students. Some halls in the capital and other cities have started bringing students to the cinema at the initiative of the schools themselves. On Thursday alone, about 600 students watched the film at Cine Royal in Nepalgunj. With the arrival of students in the shows throughout the day, the new actors of the film, Vishal Devkota, Pransha Subedi, and Samaira Thapa, went to the hall to meet them. Local exhibitors have stated that some schools' students will also watch the film today, Friday. The film features Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukund Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Asha Poudel, Govinda Sunar, Aabha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Wadi, Sarita Adhikari, Janaki Kathayat, Nishchal Panthi, Birbal Chaudhary, Kuntal, and others. Vishal Devkota and Pransha Subedi have debuted with this film. The story and direction of 'Lalibazar' are by Yam Thapa, with Pradeep Bhattarai as the executive producer, and Max Dipesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya as producers.
