Parsa Industrial Establishments Face Data Collection Issues for Economic Census

Parsa. The Statistics Coordination Office, Birgunj has stated that there are problems in collecting data required for the economic census from large industrial establishments in Parsa.< /p>

Pushkar Bijukchhen, chief of the Statistics Coordination Office, Birgunj, claimed that large industrial establishments in Parsa have not provided the data required for the economic census to the enumerators. "We have deployed economic census enumerators with letters to large industrial establishments in Parsa. However, we are facing problems in obtaining the necessary data from them," he said, "We are preparing to discuss the list of industrial establishments that do not provide data in the review meeting to be held on Jestha 7."< /p>

Hari Prasad Gautam, chairman of the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also claimed that industrialists and businessmen are ready to provide the data required for the economic census that the state is trying to conduct. "The office has not coordinated with us regarding which industrial establishments have not provided the data required for the economic census," he said, "If the concerned office requests the chamber, we are always ready to request and coordinate with the industrial establishments to participate in the economic census, even by writing letters."< /p>

The Statistics Coordination Office, Birgunj, had set a target of conducting an economic census of 23,300 establishments across Parsa district, but as of Monday, the economic census has been completed in 14,156 establishments, the office stated. Currently, 66 enumerators and nine supervisors are deployed for the economic census, the office said.< /p>
