Construction Entrepreneurs Protest Price Hikes at Road Department

Kathmandu. The Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs has staged a sit-in protest at the Road Department against the excessive price hike in construction materials including fuel. The Federation and its associate member coordination committee staged the protest on Thursday, stating that the Nepal government has not addressed the issue even as all projects across the country are automatically heading towards closure due to the excessive price hike. The entrepreneurs submitted a memorandum to the Road Department while staging the protest. Construction entrepreneurs, who are suffering from the price hike, have said that they cannot move forward with the work due to the government's indifference. Speaking at the protest program, the organizers informed that all construction work will be further affected and stopped from today. The entrepreneurs' stance is that projects cannot move forward until the government immediately addresses the price hike.
