Federal Parliament Secretariat Appoints Prakash Adhikari as New Secretary

Kathmandu. Newly appointed Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Prakash Adhikari, has taken the oath of office and secrecy. 

Adhikari took the oath of his position in a special ceremony organized at the Parliament Secretariat in Singhdarbar on Thursday. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal administered the oath to him. 

President Ram Chandra Paudel had appointed Adhikari to the post of Secretary of the House of Representatives upon the recommendation of Speaker Aryal. Adhikari, a permanent resident of Khandbari Municipality-3, Sankhuwasabha district, is a retired employee from the civil service at the Undersecretary level. 

Speaker Aryal had recommended Adhikari's name for the vacant post after relieving Harkaraj Rai from the post of Secretary. According to constitutional and legal provisions, the President appoints and removes the Secretary-General of the Federal Parliament, the Secretary of the House of Representatives, and the Secretary of the National Assembly upon the recommendation of the Speaker or Chairperson of the respective house.
