US President Donald Trump Embarks on China Visit with Tech CEOs

Washington DC. US President Donald Trump has embarked on a China visit. On the visit, Trump has also taken prominent chief executive officers from the American trade and technology sectors with him to China.

At the official visit to be held in Beijing, CEOs of domestic chip manufacturing company Nvidia Jensen Huang, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, among others, are participating. Representatives from Meta, Visa, JPMorgan Chase, and Boeing are also included in the team. According to the BBC, more than a dozen chief executives are participating in the US delegation accompanying Trump to China.

This visit is considered important from the perspective of US-China relations. Recently, the economic and technological competition between the two countries has been intensifying. In such a situation, this meeting to be held between Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping is being viewed with great importance.

Especially, the inclusion of Nvidia's chief Jensen Huang in the visiting team at the last moment is considered meaningful. Nvidia's advanced artificial intelligence-based chips are currently at the center of US-China competition. Huang is also a member of Trump's Science and Technology Advisory Council. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and Oracle's co-founder Larry Ellison are also on this council.

Other chief executives participating in this visit include Kelly Oortberg, Ryan McInerney, Stephen Schwarzman, Jane Fraser, David Solomon, Tyf Michael Mibach. The participation of Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra is also being watched with interest.

China had banned the use of some of this company's chips in critical infrastructure in 2023, citing national security reasons. The company stated that its business in China was affected due to this move. According to analysts, semiconductor technology is still at the core of US-China economic relations, although tensions continue over technology control and export bans.
