Health Minister Nisha Mehta Announces Preparations to Address Health Insurance Issues

Kathmandu. Minister of Health and Population Nisha Mehta has stated that the government is making special preparations to solve the existing problems in health insurance and make it more organized and people-friendly.

On Monday, while inaugurating the 'National Sanitation Week' at Bir Hospital, she informed that the ministry is doing intensive homework to make the health insurance program simple and effective.

Minister Mehta acknowledged that there are some complex problems in health insurance and clarified that the action plan for improvement is in the final stage. She said that the government will soon announce a new system that will be convenient for the citizens.

'It is a bit complicated in health insurance. We are having intensive discussions on how it can be facilitated and made people-friendly. It is being worked out, you will know soon,' said Minister Mehta.

Currently, various complaints have been arising regarding delays in service delivery in the health insurance program, complexities in claim payments, and weaknesses in citizen access.
