Protest Held in Lalitpur Demanding Release of Human Rights Commission Report

Kathmandu. A protest was held in Lalitpur on Monday demanding the immediate release of the National Human Rights Commission's report on the Genji movement. 

The National Genji Civil Campaign staged a sit-in and protest in front of the commission's central office at Harihar Bhawan in Lalitpur.

During the peaceful sit-in program, participants put pressure by carrying various banners and placards. Protesters expressed anger, alleging that the report prepared after an investigation into the movement's incidents was being hidden. 

During the protest, the police took some protesters into custody for attempting to break the prohibited area. According to the District Police Range, Lalitpur, 10 protesters were taken into custody. Among those arrested were 9 men and 1 woman.
