Sagarmatha Climber Dies of Altitude Sickness

Solukhumbu. One person has died due to altitude sickness while going for Sagarmatha ascent. Vijay Ghimire Bishwakarma, a resident of Solududhkunda Municipality-7, died of altitude sickness today, the District Police Office informed. According to police inspector Bikash Rai, information officer at the office, climber Ghimire, who had reached Sagarmatha's Camp-1 area, suddenly fell ill around 4:00 AM today. He died on the way while being brought back to the base camp immediately. The police informed that Ghimire's body, who participated in the ascent through the Trek Nepal company, was brought to Lukla helipad by helicopter and preparations are underway to bring it to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu for examination. Ghimire, who had previously summited Sagarmatha, was also working as a climber 'guide' recently.
